ITINERARY / DATES 11 APR - 25 APR 2023
Days 1 - 5
Antakya - Cappadocia - Pamukkale
We begin our trip in ancient Antioch, the birthplace of the word ‘Christianity’, we also visit Cappadocia, a region of exceptional natural wonders, famous for its sunrise hot-air balloon rides, Cappadocia is also known for its enchanting cave dwellings and where early Christians lived secretly in order to survive and keep their faith. Pamukkale famous for its natural hot springs and the start of our visit to the Seven Churches of Revelations.
Days 6 - 12
Seven Churches of Revelation
According to Revelation 1:11, on the Greek island of Patmos, Jesus Christ instructs John of Patmos to: "Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamum, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea."
Today, all these are existing names in Turkey as they are ancient cities protected by the Culture and Tourism Ministry of the Republic of Turkey. They are located in the Izmir, Manisa, and Denizli provinces of Turkey. Smyrna is the ancient name of Izmir city which will possibly be your starting point of a tour of the Seven Churches of Asia. Smyrna is located in Izmir city and Pergamum is only 2 hours away from Izmir. Thyatira is located one hour east of Pergamum. Sardis and Philadelphia Churches are very close to each other and they are less than an hour away from Thyatira. The furthest Church of Revelation is Laodicea which is two hours away from Sardis. To complete the tour of Seven Churches, you need to drive to Ephesus which is 2,5 hours away from Laodicea.
We will visit them all!
Days 13 - 16
Athens - Mars Hill - Corinth
Continue to follow in the steps of Paul. Climb the Acropolis and sit where Paul addressed the ‘elders of the city’ on Mars Hill. Walk among the ruins of the ancient city of Corinth and then Delphi, where the ‘Oracle’ spoke wrods of prophecy.
